About the work
Drone music. Spectators enter the stage. Into a painting of Čiurlionis. Into the pulse of the universe. Above the clouds. It becomes unclear… Is it a play or a ritual? Perhaps we’re flying through space. Drama is an abstract sound. Or perhaps a state of being? Space and sound. Meditation. Someone is arguing. Or making love… Current acoustics and the collective subconscious. Philosophy or a mystical journey. The text isn’t important here; what matters most are sound and image.
For me, as a composer, Čiurlionis is perhaps the artist of our nation closest to my heart, both aesthetically and philosophically. The form of this performance, its soundscape, its visual and acting choices give meaning to Čiurlionis’s symbolism

An unexpected invitation to take a fresh look at M. K. Čiurlionis, to experience him through feeling, through space, through creative transformation. Through sound, light, and minimal movement, it transports the viewer into a soothing presence. A sensation that can be experienced not only by devoted admirers of his work, but also by those who are just discovering this genius.
