Pilgrims

Scene by scene, this route follows the pilgrimage of Indrė and Paulius, the main characters of „Pilgrims“, a psychological drama set in Karmėlava, Kaunas district. Paulius and Indrė arrive in the small town near an airport. The next day they pretend to be buying a house, but get recognised by the owner and thrown out. It becomes clear that Paulius is the brother and Indrė was the girlfriend of a boy who was kidnapped, raped and murdered four years ago. Undisturbed by the mood of the locals, they carry on retracing the steps of this gruesome crime.

The world premiere of „Pilgrims“ took place at the Venice Film Festival in 2021, where it was awarded the Orizzonti programme prize.

In spring 2022, Kaunas 2022, Kino Pavasaris and TELIA invited everyone to see „Pilgrims“ in a pop-up cinema in the same town of Karmėlava. KOSMOS APP invites you to continue the film experience.
