About the work
Three sculptural installations in Kaunas. Three time machines. The frozen stories within them come to life and take passers-by on a ride through the depths of time and meaning.
“FACE TO FACE”
“The tie with the Other is knotted only as responsibility — and this, moreover, whether accepted or refused, whether knowing or not knowing how to assume it, whether able or unable to do something concrete for the Other.” (Emmanuel Levinas, “Ethics and Infinity”)
“ANGELS”
Once upon a time, there was a girl smiling at the “angels” in a meadow in Kulautuva… Her name was Rosian Bagriansky (Zerner). “I am living proof that miracles do happen…” said the girl 70 years later, recognizing herself in a photograph at an exhibition dedicated to Holocaust victims.
“MINKOWSKI SPACE”
Hermann Minkowski. A math genius from Aleksotas. Trapped in time, between two calendars.
