“HOW ARE YOU?”
EGLĖ JASAITYTĖ
Exhibition | on permanent display | Foyer
Do you like “small talk”? You know, the kind where you run into an acquaintance and chatter away — “How are you?” — “I’m fine, how about you?” — and nothing really happens. And yet, this phrase often hides loneliness, pain, sadness, broken promises, unspoken words, guilt, jealousy, disappointment, anger, and other things that trouble your soul.

“THREE POEMS”
JULIJA VINGELĖ
Concert | 30 min. | Small Hall
American composer Randall Meyers’ work “Three Poems: for the Night and the Half-Light” is dedicated to a pianist who performs it only at the premiere and never returns to it afterward. More than fifteen years later, these scores find their way into the hands of another pianist. She begins to delve into the complex history of the piece and the subtle relationship between the composer and the first performer, which quietly remained behind the scenes.
Julija Vingelė’s interpretation is based on what lies between the notes and between people. It is a documentary, almost detective look at the relationship between two people as an encounter within the fabric of music, where painful experiences become the thread that binds them together.
